Chicken 65 Recipe
Chicken 65 is a spicy, deep fried chicken dish. It can be prepared using boneless or bone-in chicken and is usually served with onion and lemon garnish. Vegetarian variants like “Paneer 65” or “Gobi 65” use paneer or cauliflower instead.
Step1
Ingredients
- Chicken – 500g (boneless)
- Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
- Black pepper powder – ¼ tsp
- Garlic – ginger paste – ½ tsp
- Salt – as needed
- Water – 2 to 3 tbsp
Add chicken to a bowl and add the other mentioned ingredients. Mix well. Half cook the chicken.
Step 2
Ingredients
- Corn flour – 3 tbsp
- Maida (all purpose flour) – 1 tbsp
- Black pepper powder – ½ tsp
- Kashmiri chilli powder – 2 to 3 tbsp
- Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
- Garam masala powder – ½ tsp
- Cumin powder – 1 pinch
- Ginger – garlic paste – 1 tbsp
- Egg – 1 no
- Lemon juice – 1 tbsp
- Salt – as needed
- Water – as needed
In a bowl, add all the above mentioned ingredients. Mix well and prepare a think batter by adding enough water. Add the half cooked chicken into the batter. Mix well and keep aside for 30 minutes (optional).
Step 3
Ingredients
- Pappad – 2 nos
- Oil – enough for frying
Cut pappad into small pieces. Pour oil to a frying pan. Fry the pappad and keep aside. Fry the chicken over low to medium flame.
Step 4
Ingredients
- Oil – 2 tbsp
- Garlic – 2 to 3 cloves
- Ginger – garlic paste – ½ tsp
- Black pepper powder – ¼ tsp
- Garam masala powder – ¼ tsp
- Chilli sauce – 1 tbsp
- Green chilli – 3 to 4 nos (cut into 2)
- Curry leaves – handful
- Salt – as needed
Add 2 tbsp oil from which chicken is fried to a pan. add chopped garlic, green chilli, curry leaves, garlic ginger paste and saute for few minutes. Add chilli sauce and mix well. Add black pepper powder, garam masala powder, salt as needed and mix well. Add the fried chicken and mix well. Garnish it with some fried curry leaves and pappad.
Serve hot !!!
