Tempura vegetables 

Preparation of  batter


  • All purpose flour – 1 cup (cold)
  • Ginger pwdr – 1/2 tsp
  • Garlic pwdr – 1/2 tsp
  • White pepper pwdr – 1/2 tsp
  • Baking soda – 1/2 tsp
  • Club soda – as needed (cold)
  • Salt – as per taste

Mix all the above ingredients gently into a lumpy batter of thick consistency. Do not over mix as it will make all the air bubbles burst. Start frying immediately. Non vegetarians can add egg also to the batter.



  • Cooking oil – enough for deep frying
  • Vegetables – button mushroom, onion rings, potato etc.

Heat the cooking oil in a frying pan. Dip the vegetables in the batter and deep fry, till golden color.
