Vettu cake | കേരളപുരം വെട്ട് കേക്ക്
Step 1
Ingredients
- Cardamom – 3 nos
- Nutmeg – ½ piece
- Sugar – 1 tsp
Preparation
Grind all the above ingredients to a fine powder.

- Duck egg – 1 no
- Sugar – ½ (powdered)
- Oil – 1 tsp
- Baking soda – ¼ tsp
- All-purpose flour (maida) – about 1 cup
Preparation
Into a mixing bowl, add the egg and beat well. Then add the sugar and mix well. Now add the prepared ground mix (step 1), oil and baking soda, mix well. Add the flour, part by part and mix well till you get a soft dough as shown in the video. Add few drops of oil and knead well. Now first roll the dough to a log shape and then make it to a rectangle shape by patting. Cut into equal sizes and make a slit in the middle.

- Oil – for deep frying
Preparation
In a heated pan,add the oil for frying. Once the oil is hot, add the cake dough cubes (step 2). Fry over medium flame, else inner part remains uncooked. Fry till the cakes turn brown and after cooling down, store them in an air-tight container.
