Wheat Ottada
Step 1 : For filling
- Fresh grated coconut- 1 cup
- Cardamom powder – 1/2 tsp
- Sugar- 2 tsp
Preparation
Mix all of the above ingredients well.
Step 2 : For dough
- Wheat flour -1 cup
- Salt- as per taste
- Water – as needed for make wheat dough
- Banana leaves – as needed
Preparation
In a mixing bowl, add the wheat flour and salt. Add water gradually and mix it to a paste. Take a bid lemon sized dough and spread it on the banana leaf evenly (as shown in the video). Then sprinkle the filling mix (step 1) and fold the banana leaf. Cook it directly over a heated pan by flipping in between to get cooked evenly. Upon cooking well, you will be able to peel it easily.
