Caramelize sugar | How to caramalize sugar
- White sugar – ½ cup
- Water – 6 to 7 tbsp
In a heavy bottom pan, mix sugar and 5 tbsp of water. Stir until the sugar and water is mixed well. Bring it to boil over very low flame. Do not stir after wards. Wait till it starts changing colour. Now stir occasionally. Boil till colour changes to dark brown. Now add 1 or 2 tbsp of water and mix well. Turn off the flame. Add water very carefully because it will burst. You may add more water if you feel the syrup is thick. Add warm water for diluting.
